Chengdu is a distinctive Turban garlic variety originating from Chengdu, China. Introduced to North America by garlic collector G. Czarnecki, this cultivar stands out for its robust flavor that is notably milder than many other Turban types, making it an excellent choice for recipes that call for raw garlic.

This garlic offers a full-bodied garlic flavor with just a hint of heat, making it versatile for both raw and cooked applications. Its milder profile allows it to enhance dishes without overpowering them. Chengdu has a shorter storage life, typically lasting up to 3–4 months, so it's best enjoyed fresh.
