Persian Star

Persian Star is a striking Purple Stripe garlic with a rich backstory and even richer flavor. Originally purchased at a bazaar in Samarkand, Uzbekistan in the late 1980s by garlic collector John Swenson, it’s become a reliable favorite.

Bulbs are eye-catching, often with smooth white outer wrappers and vivid purple-streaked cloves inside. The cloves themselves are red-tipped with marbled streaks on a creamy or golden base—beautiful and easy to peel.

Flavor-wise, Persian Star delivers a pleasant, well-rounded garlic taste with a mild spicy zing. It's great raw for those who like a little pop, and it mellows nicely when cooked, making it versatile for everyday use.
